Narrative:
When taxiing on taxiway H I was instructed to give way to an aircraft ahead of me. The aircraft in question was a beech duchess according to the controller. The occurrence happened at night at this busy training airport. I was unable to recognize a beech duchess and there was no aircraft entering this converging taxiway. The controller questioned me as to 'why I could not see the aircraft.' at this time the aircraft was now in my 3 O'clock position awaiting to enter the taxiway I was on. It was apparent that the aircraft was taxiing behind my field of vision. In sits like this I would have gladly stopped. I was taxiing at no faster than legal taxi speed. When shutting down I questioned ground personnel and they said the aircraft was behind me. It was not easy to see the aircraft from my position. The controller in the elevated position had a much better position to view the field of play. I would rather the controller request I stop and wait for the aircraft to pass than cause a conflict. If the situation had occurred during the day the conflict may not have occurred.

Title: C441 ACFT TAXIING WAS INSTRUCTED BY GND CTLR TO GIVE WAY TO ANOTHER TAXIING ACFT. RPTR SAW NO OTHER ACFT SO CONTINUED TAXIING. GND CTLR ASKED WHY RPTR HAD NOT STOPPED AS INSTRUCTED AND RPTR SAID OTHER ACFT WAS ABEAM AND DIDN'T SEE IT.
Narrative: WHEN TAXIING ON TXWY H I WAS INSTRUCTED TO GIVE WAY TO AN ACFT AHEAD OF ME. THE ACFT IN QUESTION WAS A BEECH DUCHESS ACCORDING TO THE CTLR. THE OCCURRENCE HAPPENED AT NIGHT AT THIS BUSY TRAINING ARPT. I WAS UNABLE TO RECOGNIZE A BEECH DUCHESS AND THERE WAS NO ACFT ENTERING THIS CONVERGING TXWY. THE CTLR QUESTIONED ME AS TO 'WHY I COULD NOT SEE THE ACFT.' AT THIS TIME THE ACFT WAS NOW IN MY 3 O'CLOCK POS AWAITING TO ENTER THE TXWY I WAS ON. IT WAS APPARENT THAT THE ACFT WAS TAXIING BEHIND MY FIELD OF VISION. IN SITS LIKE THIS I WOULD HAVE GLADLY STOPPED. I WAS TAXIING AT NO FASTER THAN LEGAL TAXI SPD. THE CTLR IN THE ELEVATED POS HAD A MUCH BETTER POS TO VIEW THE FIELD OF PLAY. I WOULD RATHER THE CTLR REQUEST I STOP AND WAIT FOR THE ACFT TO PASS THAN CAUSE A CONFLICT. IF THE SIT HAD OCCURRED DURING THE DAY THE CONFLICT MAY NOT HAVE OCCURRED.
