Narrative:

While on approach, after descending to visual conditions (from moderate to severe icing conditions 5000-7000 ft), stall stick shakers activated at 145 KTS with flaps/slats 40 degrees. After 'firewall power' was applied, we attempted to establish a shallow climb, but shakers activated again. Aircraft did not feel like it was in a stall condition. It flew level ok with an increased speed. A stall indicator failure came on after 5 seconds.
