Narrative:

I was providing OJT instruction at the kennedy departure position during a busy session of evening traffic. At approximately XX15 a commuter departed runway 13L at jfk on a 090 degree heading. Although the trainee initially states, 'radar contact' to the aircraft and climbs him to 7000 ft, we were not receiving a transponder, primary target only. Subsequently we forgot about the aircraft until he called us asking for a turn on course. We then had him turn his transponder on and idented him 7 NM southeast of isb airport. At this point he was approaching the boundary of another controller's airspace, so I instructed the handoff man to point him out to the adjacent controller. As we were doing this he crossed the boundary resulting in an airspace deviation.

Title: COMMUTER ACFT ENTERS ADJOINING SECTOR AIRSPACE WITHOUT HDOF COORD. INSTRUCTOR AND TRAINEE FORGOT THE ACFT.

Narrative: I WAS PROVIDING OJT INSTRUCTION AT THE KENNEDY DEP POS DURING A BUSY SESSION OF EVENING TFC. AT APPROX XX15 A COMMUTER DEPARTED RWY 13L AT JFK ON A 090 DEG HDG. ALTHOUGH THE TRAINEE INITIALLY STATES, 'RADAR CONTACT' TO THE ACFT AND CLBS HIM TO 7000 FT, WE WERE NOT RECEIVING A XPONDER, PRIMARY TARGET ONLY. SUBSEQUENTLY WE FORGOT ABOUT THE ACFT UNTIL HE CALLED US ASKING FOR A TURN ON COURSE. WE THEN HAD HIM TURN HIS XPONDER ON AND IDENTED HIM 7 NM SE OF ISB ARPT. AT THIS POINT HE WAS APCHING THE BOUNDARY OF ANOTHER CTLR'S AIRSPACE, SO I INSTRUCTED THE HDOF MAN TO POINT HIM OUT TO THE ADJACENT CTLR. AS WE WERE DOING THIS HE CROSSED THE BOUNDARY RESULTING IN AN AIRSPACE DEV.
