Narrative:
In the general chicago area, the canadian geese population has been increasing very rapidly. Once these birds nest, they become territorial. Last yr I've noticed many of these geese were congregating on the ground at ord and msp airports. While I was taking off from msp on runway 22 from intersection M7, I observed 2 adult geese with 5-7 ducklings walking on centerline of runway 22. I passed the geese (aircraft still on ground) at vr, approximately 1000 ft south of runway 30L intersection. The 2 adult geese didn't attempt to take flight. I was surprised that the geese appeared to be missed by my aircraft. Due to the canadian geese large size, it would be most appropriate to have the airports protected from these nesting birds.

Title: MLG ACFT RPTR CAPT POINTS OUT POTENTIAL FOR A SERIOUS CONFLICT WITH GEESE NESTING AND WALKING ON RWYS. IN THIS INCIDENT 2 ADULT GEESE WITH GOSLINGS ARE ON CTRLINE OF RWY ON WHICH THEY WERE TAKING OFF.

I PASSED THE GEESE (ACFT STILL ON GND) AT VR, APPROX 1000 FT S OF RWY 30L INTXN. THE 2 ADULT GEESE DIDN'T ATTEMPT TO TAKE FLT. I WAS SURPRISED THAT THE GEESE APPEARED TO BE MISSED BY MY ACFT. DUE TO THE CANADIAN GEESE LARGE SIZE, IT WOULD BE MOST APPROPRIATE TO HAVE THE ARPTS PROTECTED FROM THESE NESTING BIRDS.
