Narrative:

On long vector for final, landing to northwest. Descending out of 4000 ft to 3000 ft, received call from approach control around 3000 ft and 250 KTS (power just pulled to idle to slow to 200 KTS), requesting airspeed. First officer responded only '250 KTS,' did not say 'slowing to 200 KTS.' controller remarked, 'airspeed beneath class B should be 200 KTS, slow to 200 KTS.' with multiple vectors, was not exactly sure where aircraft was in relation to class B airspace, but as we neared what I thought were the class B limits, I began to slow aircraft to 200 KTS, apparently a little too late.

Title: G4 CREW EXCEEDS 200 KTS BELOW MSP CLASS B AIRSPACE.

Narrative: ON LONG VECTOR FOR FINAL, LNDG TO NW. DSNDING OUT OF 4000 FT TO 3000 FT, RECEIVED CALL FROM APCH CTL AROUND 3000 FT AND 250 KTS (PWR JUST PULLED TO IDLE TO SLOW TO 200 KTS), REQUESTING AIRSPD. FO RESPONDED ONLY '250 KTS,' DID NOT SAY 'SLOWING TO 200 KTS.' CTLR REMARKED, 'AIRSPD BENEATH CLASS B SHOULD BE 200 KTS, SLOW TO 200 KTS.' WITH MULTIPLE VECTORS, WAS NOT EXACTLY SURE WHERE ACFT WAS IN RELATION TO CLASS B AIRSPACE, BUT AS WE NEARED WHAT I THOUGHT WERE THE CLASS B LIMITS, I BEGAN TO SLOW ACFT TO 200 KTS, APPARENTLY A LITTLE TOO LATE.
