Narrative:
This was a scheduled air carrier flight between bur and sfo. After leveling off in cruise flight, just passing gorman VOR, we were assigned direct bsr. Shortly thereafter, we were given a heading 250 degrees, vectors for spacing to sfo. Mins later, we were given heading 270 degrees, again by ZLA. After continuing on heading 270 degrees until passing abeam bsr VOR, we became suspicious that ZLA may have forgotten about us, although during the entire time on our vector heading 270 degrees we could hear the ZLA controller. Just after passing abeam bsr VOR, we received a message via ACARS to contact ZOA. Upon initial contact, were assigned an immediate right turn to avoid potential warning area penetration to rejoin the bsr 2 arrival. At no time while we were on ZLA frequency did we hear our call sign for a frequency change. Just as we were going to initiate a call to verify our heading, we received the message via ACARS for the frequency change to ZOA.

Title: ACR FLC ON VECTOR AT CRUISE ALT MISS FREQ CHANGE. FLC OBTAIN INFO VIA ACARS TO CHANGE TO NEXT CTL FREQ.
Narrative: THIS WAS A SCHEDULED ACR FLT BTWN BUR AND SFO. AFTER LEVELING OFF IN CRUISE FLT, JUST PASSING GORMAN VOR, WE WERE ASSIGNED DIRECT BSR. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, WE WERE GIVEN A HDG 250 DEGS, VECTORS FOR SPACING TO SFO. MINS LATER, WE WERE GIVEN HDG 270 DEGS, AGAIN BY ZLA. AFTER CONTINUING ON HDG 270 DEGS UNTIL PASSING ABEAM BSR VOR, WE BECAME SUSPICIOUS THAT ZLA MAY HAVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT US, ALTHOUGH DURING THE ENTIRE TIME ON OUR VECTOR HDG 270 DEGS WE COULD HEAR THE ZLA CTLR. JUST AFTER PASSING ABEAM BSR VOR, WE RECEIVED A MESSAGE VIA ACARS TO CONTACT ZOA. UPON INITIAL CONTACT, WERE ASSIGNED AN IMMEDIATE R TURN TO AVOID POTENTIAL WARNING AREA PENETRATION TO REJOIN THE BSR 2 ARR. AT NO TIME WHILE WE WERE ON ZLA FREQ DID WE HEAR OUR CALL SIGN FOR A FREQ CHANGE. JUST AS WE WERE GOING TO INITIATE A CALL TO VERIFY OUR HDG, WE RECEIVED THE MESSAGE VIA ACARS FOR THE FREQ CHANGE TO ZOA.
