Narrative:

After landing at the ric airport I was asked by the tower controller where I was parking. I told her the FBO. She then told me to exit the runway and to taxi, but hold short at the other runway and to stay on her frequency. She then cleared me to cross the runway, but did not tell me to call the ground controller on the other side. After crossing the second runway, I proceeded to the FBO, which was just across a taxiway. I was called by the tower controller and admonished for not contacting ground. I really thought the tower controller meant for me to stay with her after crossing. She said she told me to contact ground on the other side. I have a cockpit voice recorder which I played back and she said nothing of the sort. Next time, I will confirm when a controller tells me they want me 'to stay with me.'

Title: MOONEY PLT DISPUTES CLRNC FROM TWR AT RIC.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG AT THE RIC ARPT I WAS ASKED BY THE TWR CTLR WHERE I WAS PARKING. I TOLD HER THE FBO. SHE THEN TOLD ME TO EXIT THE RWY AND TO TAXI, BUT HOLD SHORT AT THE OTHER RWY AND TO STAY ON HER FREQ. SHE THEN CLRED ME TO CROSS THE RWY, BUT DID NOT TELL ME TO CALL THE GND CTLR ON THE OTHER SIDE. I REALLY THOUGHT THE TWR CTLR MEANT FOR ME TO STAY WITH HER AFTER XING. SHE SAID SHE TOLD ME TO CONTACT GND ON THE OTHER SIDE.
