Narrative:
On ILS approach to runway 25L lax. Approach had vectored us on the civet arrival but due to crossing VFR traffic we were held high and were instructed to keep speed up. While rectifying speed and altitude we were given instructions to contact tower at final fix. Due to concentrating on stabilizing approach we didn't contact tower until on runway. In future rather than accepting unusual directions will decline and request vectors.
