Narrative:
Flight was turned to 190 degrees from 255 degrees on descending vector from 8000 ft to 6000 ft. Got RA at 6900 ft and stopped descent. Controller stopped our descent (after we had taken RA action) at 7000 ft and turned us to heading 130 degrees. Later saw B757 aircraft at same altitude on diverging vector on our left side. Nothing said to us on radio about near miss. Confirmed it later with approach control. A system deviation is being filed by approach control.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACFT RECEIVED A TCASII RA WHILE ON RADAR VECTORS.
Narrative: FLT WAS TURNED TO 190 DEGS FROM 255 DEGS ON DSNDING VECTOR FROM 8000 FT TO 6000 FT. GOT RA AT 6900 FT AND STOPPED DSCNT. CTLR STOPPED OUR DSCNT (AFTER WE HAD TAKEN RA ACTION) AT 7000 FT AND TURNED US TO HDG 130 DEGS. LATER SAW B757 ACFT AT SAME ALT ON DIVERGING VECTOR ON OUR L SIDE. NOTHING SAID TO US ON RADIO ABOUT NEAR MISS. CONFIRMED IT LATER WITH APCH CTL. A SYS DEV IS BEING FILED BY APCH CTL.
