Narrative:
I landed gon at about XA00, runway 5 was active. After having breakfast, started up, checked ATIS and called ground control. Having landed on runway 5 1 hour earlier, and seeing a commuter turboprop waiting for takeoff on runway 5, I became confused when cleared with a hold short of runway 5 at taxiway G. I was trying to figure out where taxiway G was, as I was about to cross runway 33. I saw an aircraft on final for runway 33 and immediately did a 360 degree turn to clear runway 33. My right wing was probably partially over runway 33, but only momentarily and did not conflict. Ground then directed me to runway 33 properly. After departing, I listened to ATIS again and the information was ILS runway 5 and takeoff runway 33. I was confused by having landed runway 5, seeing an aircraft awaiting takeoff on runway 5, and not listening closely enough to ATIS. Further confusion was that I heard (or misheard) hold short of runway 5 at taxiway G. I fly in and out of gon frequently, and the visual path across runway 5 is at taxiway D. The only thing I can say in my favor is that I looked both ways at runway 33 before crossing. I need to be more careful about listening to ATIS and ground control.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: PLT OF AN SEL SMA FAILED TO STOP SHORT OF AN ACTIVE RWY DURING TAXI OUT AS INSTRUCTED BY GND CTL DUE TO CLRNC CONFUSION.
Narrative: I LANDED GON AT ABOUT XA00, RWY 5 WAS ACTIVE. AFTER HAVING BREAKFAST, STARTED UP, CHKED ATIS AND CALLED GND CTL. HAVING LANDED ON RWY 5 1 HR EARLIER, AND SEEING A COMMUTER TURBOPROP WAITING FOR TKOF ON RWY 5, I BECAME CONFUSED WHEN CLRED WITH A HOLD SHORT OF RWY 5 AT TXWY G. I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE TXWY G WAS, AS I WAS ABOUT TO CROSS RWY 33. I SAW AN ACFT ON FINAL FOR RWY 33 AND IMMEDIATELY DID A 360 DEG TURN TO CLR RWY 33. MY R WING WAS PROBABLY PARTIALLY OVER RWY 33, BUT ONLY MOMENTARILY AND DID NOT CONFLICT. GND THEN DIRECTED ME TO RWY 33 PROPERLY. AFTER DEPARTING, I LISTENED TO ATIS AGAIN AND THE INFO WAS ILS RWY 5 AND TKOF RWY 33. I WAS CONFUSED BY HAVING LANDED RWY 5, SEEING AN ACFT AWAITING TKOF ON RWY 5, AND NOT LISTENING CLOSELY ENOUGH TO ATIS. FURTHER CONFUSION WAS THAT I HEARD (OR MISHEARD) HOLD SHORT OF RWY 5 AT TXWY G. I FLY IN AND OUT OF GON FREQUENTLY, AND THE VISUAL PATH ACROSS RWY 5 IS AT TXWY D. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IN MY FAVOR IS THAT I LOOKED BOTH WAYS AT RWY 33 BEFORE XING. I NEED TO BE MORE CAREFUL ABOUT LISTENING TO ATIS AND GND CTL.
