Narrative:
Automatic pressurization placarded inoperative. Dispatched manual pressurization. Original destination cos, so we were climbing the cabin towards 6100 ft. Passing about FL210 or of FL220, cabin was climbing along nicely at 300-400 FPM. Suddenly rate shot up unctlably and cabin reached 10000 ft. Descended to 14000 ft and regained control. Returned to dfw.

Narrative: AUTO PRESSURIZATION PLACARDED INOP. DISPATCHED MANUAL PRESSURIZATION. ORIGINAL DEST COS, SO WE WERE CLBING THE CABIN TOWARDS 6100 FT. PASSING ABOUT FL210 OR OF FL220, CABIN WAS CLBING ALONG NICELY AT 300-400 FPM. SUDDENLY RATE SHOT UP UNCTLABLY AND CABIN REACHED 10000 FT. DSNDED TO 14000 FT AND REGAINED CTL. RETURNED TO DFW.
