Narrative:
2 pilots of a 4 man crew received block altitude clearance FL350-FL370. I left the cockpit for a min and then returned to find we were at FL375. Other pilot thought clearance was for block altitude FL350-FL390. WX in the area, trying to find smooth air. Corrected altitude to comply with clearance. Center/pilot data link communication satellite was OTS. HF radio position reports used in lieu of center/pilot data link communication.
