Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the aircraft was a B727-200 and the fuel control was replaced on #2 engine. The reporter said the cause of the in-flight shutdown was the failure of the drive seal 'O' ring. The reporter said initially it was reported the seal was missing, but the aircraft flew one leg with no engine problems.
