Narrative:
We were going out on the first flight of the day after a 17 hour duty day the prior day with 9 hours rest. The departure was delayed, because of rest requirements they were attempting to expedite the departure. The first 1000 ft of the runway is notamed closed and also on the ATIS. It is not barricaded in any way. We taxied quickly to the end of the runway, not realizing it was partially closed and were cleared for takeoff. After departure, the tower asked if we had applied takeoff power prior to the new threshold. At this time I realized the mistake that I had made. A combination of fatigue and an attempt to get on schedule contributed to the incident.
