Narrative:
Orlando tower had cleared us for takeoff. Just as we were advancing the power, we heard the tower clear 'air carrier abc' into position and hold. Since this was our call sign, apparently some confusion existed. Although we suspect the tower had just misspoke, we elected to discontinue the takeoff at taxi speed. Additionally we queried the controller and advised him we were discontinuing our takeoff and would exit at the next taxiway. The controller admittedly used the wrong call sign by accident. He apologized several times for the confusion. All procedures/checklists were accomplished/reaccomplished and the flight departed uneventfully. This was just one of those times (that we have all experienced) where the wrong call sign was accidentally/momentarily used. During any other phase of flight a radio call could have quickly cleared up the confusion, but since the time factor involved was more critical we elected to discontinue the takeoff.

Title: MCO LCL CTLR CLRS ACFT X FOR TKOF BUT THEN MISTAKENLY USES ACFT X CALL SIGN TO INSTRUCT ACFT Y INTO POS AND HOLD. ACFT X ABORTED.
Narrative: ORLANDO TWR HAD CLRED US FOR TKOF. JUST AS WE WERE ADVANCING THE PWR, WE HEARD THE TWR CLR 'ACR ABC' INTO POS AND HOLD. SINCE THIS WAS OUR CALL SIGN, APPARENTLY SOME CONFUSION EXISTED. ALTHOUGH WE SUSPECT THE TWR HAD JUST MISSPOKE, WE ELECTED TO DISCONTINUE THE TKOF AT TAXI SPD. ADDITIONALLY WE QUERIED THE CTLR AND ADVISED HIM WE WERE DISCONTINUING OUR TKOF AND WOULD EXIT AT THE NEXT TXWY. THE CTLR ADMITTEDLY USED THE WRONG CALL SIGN BY ACCIDENT. HE APOLOGIZED SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE CONFUSION. ALL PROCS/CHKLISTS WERE ACCOMPLISHED/REACCOMPLISHED AND THE FLT DEPARTED UNEVENTFULLY. THIS WAS JUST ONE OF THOSE TIMES (THAT WE HAVE ALL EXPERIENCED) WHERE THE WRONG CALL SIGN WAS ACCIDENTALLY/MOMENTARILY USED. DURING ANY OTHER PHASE OF FLT A RADIO CALL COULD HAVE QUICKLY CLRED UP THE CONFUSION, BUT SINCE THE TIME FACTOR INVOLVED WAS MORE CRITICAL WE ELECTED TO DISCONTINUE THE TKOF.
