Narrative:
Flight X stl-ord. We had just landed on runway 4R at ord. Captain was taxiing aircraft down runway. Tower told us it was ok to turn off on taxiway Q. As we approached taxiway Q, tower told us to take taxiway D at the end. I alerted the captain that tower wanted us to turn off on taxiway D, but he turned off on taxiway Q thinking that either taxiway Q or taxiway D were ok with the tower. Misunderstanding resulted from poor communication as we were busy with landing rollout and due to noise of reverse thrust. Our eyes were on the rollout, not our taxiway chart.
