Narrative:
Wbound on J2 over bard VOR had TCASII RA to climb for crossing traffic (unknown to center) at FL260. Started climb and advised ATC we were doing so. Stopped climb at FL268 and returned to FL260. ZLA claimed they had no traffic for us at that altitude (FL260). I never actually saw the traffic.

Title: A B737-800 FLC LEAVES FL260 WHEN A TCASII RA IS RECEIVED. NO TFC IN AREA BY ATC, NO SIGHTING BY CREW NEAR BZA, AZ.
Narrative: WBOUND ON J2 OVER BARD VOR HAD TCASII RA TO CLB FOR XING TFC (UNKNOWN TO CTR) AT FL260. STARTED CLB AND ADVISED ATC WE WERE DOING SO. STOPPED CLB AT FL268 AND RETURNED TO FL260. ZLA CLAIMED THEY HAD NO TFC FOR US AT THAT ALT (FL260). I NEVER ACTUALLY SAW THE TFC.
