Narrative:

En route from btr to lbx on far 121 charter. Just prior to level off at cruise we received a message (left 14TH duct). It was a warning message. The appropriate checklist was completed. This prompted us to complete an additional checklist for securing the left engine. An emergency was declared and we diverted to the 'nearest suitable' airport (hou). The flight attendant, company, and the passenger were notified of the situation. An uneventful single engine landing was performed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the engine was shut down due to the left engine 14TH stage pneumatic duct fail warning light on continuously. The reporter said maintenance found a failed sensor loop and determined it was a false warning.
