Narrative:

Upon taxi out, #1 flight attendant opened the cockpit door to inform me of a passenger that would not take his coach seat. Since the passenger was in direct violation of federal law, I returned to the gate and had said passenger removed. Even though the chain of events unfolded in a way in which I believe the correct actions were taken, it is very obvious the #1 flight attendant is not a people person. This was confirmed by the #2 flight attendant. Additionally, if the #1 flight attendant would have not stopped my initial briefing, she would have been better able to handle the passenger that was behaving badly.
