Narrative:

During climb, aircraft cabin altitude alarm sounded indicating a cabin altitude of 10000 ft. Flight attendant reported aft galley door seal had failed. Descended to 10000 ft and returned to cvg. Aircraft was climbing through 12000 ft at the time of alarm. Cabin oxygen masks were not deployed. First officer was flying the aircraft and was in his first month on the equipment.

Title: AN MD88 FLC RETURN LAND WHEN THEIR ACFT SUFFERS A LOSS OF CABIN PRESSURE FROM AN AFT GALLEY DOOR SEAL FAILURE 30 MI N OF CVG, OH.

Narrative: DURING CLB, ACFT CABIN ALT ALARM SOUNDED INDICATING A CABIN ALT OF 10000 FT. FLT ATTENDANT RPTED AFT GALLEY DOOR SEAL HAD FAILED. DSNDED TO 10000 FT AND RETURNED TO CVG. ACFT WAS CLBING THROUGH 12000 FT AT THE TIME OF ALARM. CABIN OXYGEN MASKS WERE NOT DEPLOYED. FO WAS FLYING THE ACFT AND WAS IN HIS FIRST MONTH ON THE EQUIP.
