Narrative:
Issued clearance to 11000 ft, I read back 'descend to 11000 ft, one, one thousand.' I set 10000 ft in the altitude window (I was the PNF). At 10600 ft the controller said 'if you are below 11000 ft, climb to 11000 ft, traffic below at 9500 ft climbing to 10000 ft.' I took the plane and climbed to 11000 ft.

Title: FO OF A B737 OVERSHOT ASSIGNED ALT ON DSCNT RESULTING IN CONFLICT WITH A B757 CLBING TO THE SAME ALT TO WHICH RPTR WAS INADVERTENTLY DSNDING.
Narrative: ISSUED CLRNC TO 11000 FT, I READ BACK 'DSND TO 11000 FT, ONE, ONE THOUSAND.' I SET 10000 FT IN THE ALT WINDOW (I WAS THE PNF). AT 10600 FT THE CTLR SAID 'IF YOU ARE BELOW 11000 FT, CLB TO 11000 FT, TFC BELOW AT 9500 FT CLBING TO 10000 FT.' I TOOK THE PLANE AND CLBED TO 11000 FT.
