Narrative:
New york approach cleared our air carrier flight for the ILS to runway 22L at ewr and handed us off to tower at 9 DME. I checked in with tower at 8.2 DME. The tower asked us if we wanted a visual approach to runway 29, with the wind 290 degrees at 20 KTS. The PF stated that he wanted runway 29 and I requested the visual to runway 29. Tower cleared us for the visual and pointed out traffic ahead, also circling for runway 29. As I looked down to xchk my instruments, I noticed that we were at 6 DME about 1/2 DOT low on the GS at about 2000 ft. There was a 2500 ft restr on the ILS at gimee intersection at 7.3 DME, which we may have busted, prior to being cleared for the visual. This may have occurred as we were distraction by the tower's offer for the visual, as we approached this fix. There was no hazard to safety noted by the crew.

Title: FO OF AN MLG DSNDED BELOW PUBLISHED INTERMEDIATE APCH ALT DURING TRANSITION FOR AN ILS APCH. TWR CTLR SUBSEQUENTLY CLRED RPTR FOR A VISUAL APCH WHICH RELIEVED THE CREW OF FURTHER XING RESTRS.
Narrative: NEW YORK APCH CLRED OUR ACR FLT FOR THE ILS TO RWY 22L AT EWR AND HANDED US OFF TO TWR AT 9 DME. I CHKED IN WITH TWR AT 8.2 DME. THE TWR ASKED US IF WE WANTED A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 29, WITH THE WIND 290 DEGS AT 20 KTS. THE PF STATED THAT HE WANTED RWY 29 AND I REQUESTED THE VISUAL TO RWY 29. TWR CLRED US FOR THE VISUAL AND POINTED OUT TFC AHEAD, ALSO CIRCLING FOR RWY 29. AS I LOOKED DOWN TO XCHK MY INSTS, I NOTICED THAT WE WERE AT 6 DME ABOUT 1/2 DOT LOW ON THE GS AT ABOUT 2000 FT. THERE WAS A 2500 FT RESTR ON THE ILS AT GIMEE INTXN AT 7.3 DME, WHICH WE MAY HAVE BUSTED, PRIOR TO BEING CLRED FOR THE VISUAL. THIS MAY HAVE OCCURRED AS WE WERE DISTR BY THE TWR'S OFFER FOR THE VISUAL, AS WE APCHED THIS FIX. THERE WAS NO HAZARD TO SAFETY NOTED BY THE CREW.
