Narrative:
Scheduled to fly to tlh, unload some freight and then on to mia. Encountered fog at tlh and after holding for 30 mins, proceeded to jax as alternate. After talking on phone with dispatch, they called back and said WX in tlh had improved and we were legal to fly back. I printed out WX and confirmed that WX was legal. We took off and flew to tlh where again the WX was below minimums. We held for about 1 hour until our fuel state required us to return to jax. Once on the ground in jax, we learned that our flight release to tlh from jax had no release time on it. I attribute my missing the release time due to fatigue and due to a sense of urgency to hurry back to tlh while the WX was legal. I took the word of the dispatcher that hustling back to tlh was important while the WX was legal. I'll make sure in the future all paperwork is in order before proceeding. Supplemental information from acn 472324: I also fault dispatch for sending us valid release without necessary time notation, and for giving us verbal go ahead.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 472324: I ALSO FAULT DISPATCH FOR SENDING US VALID RELEASE WITHOUT NECESSARY TIME NOTATION, AND FOR GIVING US VERBAL GO AHEAD.
