Narrative:

We were taxiing down taxiway south at dab airport. My student slowed down. While doing so, he stepped on the right rudder and he locked up the right brake. The aircraft turned violently to the right. I tried to gain control over the aircraft, but the student had frozen. The aircraft then was all the way in the grass heading toward a taxi light. I was still unable to gain control over the aircraft. By the time I gained control over the aircraft, I tried to avoid the taxi light and turned the aircraft to the right. When I had brought the aircraft to a stop, the tower advised me that the wing had struck a stop sign. I decided to taxi back to the hangar. The head of maintenance and the owner told me that the wing had suffered minor damage.
