Narrative:
Following a visual landing at lax on runway 24R, I exited the runway on taxiway aa. Approaching the hold short line for runway 24L, lax tower transmitted, 'aircraft X stop.' I brought the aircraft to a stop with the nosewheel just over the hold short line and short of runway 24L. After traffic on runway 24L had completed its takeoff, lax tower cleared me to continue my taxi toward the gate via taxiway aa. I had little recent experience flying into lax and had reviewed the taxi route to the gate thoroughly. I believe since my mind was more on the taxi route, I was thinking beyond the hold short line for runway 24L. The tower controller's reminder that I was approaching the hold short line returned my focus to the immediate need to hold short of runway 24L. It takes all members of the aviation team to keep this operation safe.

Title: AN ACR FLC FLYING A B737-300 AT LAX FAILS TO HOLD SHORT OF ACTIVE RWY AS INSTRUCTED BY ATC.
Narrative: FOLLOWING A VISUAL LNDG AT LAX ON RWY 24R, I EXITED THE RWY ON TXWY AA. APCHING THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 24L, LAX TWR XMITTED, 'ACFT X STOP.' I BROUGHT THE ACFT TO A STOP WITH THE NOSEWHEEL JUST OVER THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND SHORT OF RWY 24L. AFTER TFC ON RWY 24L HAD COMPLETED ITS TKOF, LAX TWR CLRED ME TO CONTINUE MY TAXI TOWARD THE GATE VIA TXWY AA. I HAD LITTLE RECENT EXPERIENCE FLYING INTO LAX AND HAD REVIEWED THE TAXI RTE TO THE GATE THOROUGHLY. I BELIEVE SINCE MY MIND WAS MORE ON THE TAXI RTE, I WAS THINKING BEYOND THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 24L. THE TWR CTLR'S REMINDER THAT I WAS APCHING THE HOLD SHORT LINE RETURNED MY FOCUS TO THE IMMEDIATE NEED TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 24L. IT TAKES ALL MEMBERS OF THE AVIATION TEAM TO KEEP THIS OP SAFE.
