Narrative:
The captain rang 3 chimes, so the #1 flight attendant went into the cockpit. The captain advised her that there was an electrical burning smell in the cockpit and that we would be returning to ord and to get ready for a planned emergency landing. We told the other flight attendants and began preparing the cabin. We made it pretty much through the whole checklist, except the briefing of the individual assistants. We landed without incident. Some of the passenger were upset, but seemed to calm down by the time we reached the gate.
