Narrative:

I was level at 10500 ft, V12, wbound, receiving TA's from joshua approach. I believe the frequency was 124.55. Traffic was given to me on several aircraft. The last call before the incident was: 12 O'clock position, 1 mi, opposite direction, your altitude. I reported, 'looking.' the controller then instructed me to turn right 30 degrees. 10 degrees into the turn I saw a twin engine, low wing aircraft, at my 1 O'clock position, same altitude, approximately 500 ft away. I immediately turned back to the left, told the controller I was turning left, and reported the traffic in sight. I did not report a near midair at the time. I did not tell the controller how close we got to another aircraft. I was busy catching my breath and flying my plane. I did not request vectors to avoid the traffic. I am not reporting a near midair at this time.

Title: NMAC BTWN A MOONEY 20J, IN LEVEL FLT, WBOUND AT 10500 FT MSL, AND A TWIN ENG ACFT COMING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AT THE SAME ALT. APCH CTLR ISSUED TA AND TURNED RPTR R INTO THE ON-COMING TFC. THE RPTR INITIATED A TURN BACK AFTER OBSERVING THE TURN.

Narrative: I WAS LEVEL AT 10500 FT, V12, WBOUND, RECEIVING TA'S FROM JOSHUA APCH. I BELIEVE THE FREQ WAS 124.55. TFC WAS GIVEN TO ME ON SEVERAL ACFT. THE LAST CALL BEFORE THE INCIDENT WAS: 12 O'CLOCK POS, 1 MI, OPPOSITE DIRECTION, YOUR ALT. I RPTED, 'LOOKING.' THE CTLR THEN INSTRUCTED ME TO TURN R 30 DEGS. 10 DEGS INTO THE TURN I SAW A TWIN ENG, LOW WING ACFT, AT MY 1 O'CLOCK POS, SAME ALT, APPROX 500 FT AWAY. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED BACK TO THE L, TOLD THE CTLR I WAS TURNING L, AND RPTED THE TFC IN SIGHT. I DID NOT RPT A NEAR MIDAIR AT THE TIME. I DID NOT TELL THE CTLR HOW CLOSE WE GOT TO ANOTHER ACFT. I WAS BUSY CATCHING MY BREATH AND FLYING MY PLANE. I DID NOT REQUEST VECTORS TO AVOID THE TFC. I AM NOT RPTING A NEAR MIDAIR AT THIS TIME.
