Narrative:
On jan/xa/01 late night shift, I was assigned aircraft xyz. The late night shift lead on duty informed me that afternoon shift had found FOD in #2 engine exhaust area. I was directed to inspect #2 engine's intake, exhaust and bypass duct area for damage. No damage was found at this time. I was then directed to run #2 engine at partial power to check its operation. I ran both #1 and #2 engines and all parameters checked good. I made a log entry stating the above action and returned aircraft to service. On jan/xb/01 late night shift, the afternoon shift lead informed me that FOD was found in #1 engine of aircraft xyz, not #2 engine. We notified the duty manager of the discrepancy at that time. #1 engine was inspected by XXX maintenance on jan/xc/01 and no defects or damage were noted.
