Narrative:
Atl-rdu, with approach control rdu, received clearance to 6000 ft, then clearance to slow to 210 KTS at 8000 ft. At 6000 ft, controller stated 8000 ft was assigned. Once on ground, I called approach control and supervisor said there was a mistake on aircraft call signs and no conflict with traffic occurred.
