Narrative:
Landing runway 5 crg, left turn taxiway F. I began turning off items required on after landing checklist. Copilot called ground. I was distraction by my actions and with sun low and in my eyes I could not see well. I think this is what was said: 'taxi to your ramp, hold short of taxiway a for aircraft approaching from right and I have your outbound clearance, are you ready to copy?' (I was to make a left on taxiway a.) I heard: 1) my copilot request to taxi, and I heard 2) you're clear and 'east' is available, are you ready to copy?' I did not hear: 1) the hold short of taxiway a clearance. Copilot looked up as I entered taxiway a and said, 'you are to hold short.' I stopped and called ground. Other aircraft had already stopped. Ground told me to proceed. Problems: 1) I did not listen. 2) copilot did not read back hold short. 3) no CRM. 4) controller should have requested readback. 5) controller should not have been issuing clearance. 6) let's get priorities straight.

Narrative: LNDG RWY 5 CRG, L TURN TXWY F. I BEGAN TURNING OFF ITEMS REQUIRED ON AFTER LNDG CHKLIST. COPLT CALLED GND. I WAS DISTR BY MY ACTIONS AND WITH SUN LOW AND IN MY EYES I COULD NOT SEE WELL. I THINK THIS IS WHAT WAS SAID: 'TAXI TO YOUR RAMP, HOLD SHORT OF TXWY A FOR ACFT APCHING FROM R AND I HAVE YOUR OUTBOUND CLRNC, ARE YOU READY TO COPY?' (I WAS TO MAKE A L ON TXWY A.) I HEARD: 1) MY COPLT REQUEST TO TAXI, AND I HEARD 2) YOU'RE CLR AND 'E' IS AVAILABLE, ARE YOU READY TO COPY?' I DID NOT HEAR: 1) THE HOLD SHORT OF TXWY A CLRNC. COPLT LOOKED UP AS I ENTERED TXWY A AND SAID, 'YOU ARE TO HOLD SHORT.' I STOPPED AND CALLED GND. OTHER ACFT HAD ALREADY STOPPED. GND TOLD ME TO PROCEED. PROBS: 1) I DID NOT LISTEN. 2) COPLT DID NOT READ BACK HOLD SHORT. 3) NO CRM. 4) CTLR SHOULD HAVE REQUESTED READBACK. 5) CTLR SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ISSUING CLRNC. 6) LET'S GET PRIORITIES STRAIGHT.
