Narrative:
We were flying from sea-slc on air carrier flight XXXX with the copilot flying the aircraft. We were cleared to land on runway 17 and on rollout we were told to 'turn right when able and hold short of runway 14.' we exited at the end of runway 17 on taxiway J which placed us on runway 14 threshold. As we pulled off the runway 17, a single engine aircraft was lining up to land on runway 14 and was told to go around. We taxied to the gate with no further events. I discussed the event with the tower supervisor and then had the air carrier chief pilot of slc review the events with tower personnel. After a long discussion, it was determined that the clearance given by the controller was not legal since it was not possible to clear runway 17 and hold short of runway 14 since they intersect. The tower chief stated that the clearance was not legal and it was a 'non event' for the pilots. A report was filed with aircraft airlines.

Title: A B767-300 FLC IS ADVISED OF AN ALLEGED RWY 14 INCURSION WHEN TURNING R OFF THE END OF RWY 17 AT SLC, UT.
Narrative: WE WERE FLYING FROM SEA-SLC ON ACR FLT XXXX WITH THE COPLT FLYING THE ACFT. WE WERE CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 17 AND ON ROLLOUT WE WERE TOLD TO 'TURN R WHEN ABLE AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 14.' WE EXITED AT THE END OF RWY 17 ON TXWY J WHICH PLACED US ON RWY 14 THRESHOLD. AS WE PULLED OFF THE RWY 17, A SINGLE ENG ACFT WAS LINING UP TO LAND ON RWY 14 AND WAS TOLD TO GO AROUND. WE TAXIED TO THE GATE WITH NO FURTHER EVENTS. I DISCUSSED THE EVENT WITH THE TWR SUPVR AND THEN HAD THE ACR CHIEF PLT OF SLC REVIEW THE EVENTS WITH TWR PERSONNEL. AFTER A LONG DISCUSSION, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CLRNC GIVEN BY THE CTLR WAS NOT LEGAL SINCE IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO CLR RWY 17 AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 14 SINCE THEY INTERSECT. THE TWR CHIEF STATED THAT THE CLRNC WAS NOT LEGAL AND IT WAS A 'NON EVENT' FOR THE PLTS. A RPT WAS FILED WITH ACFT AIRLINES.
