Narrative:
Level at FL290, ATC told us to turn left to a 360 degree heading and to climb to FL330. The first officer read back 340 degree heading and FL330 along with our call sign. ATC said 'no, the heading is 360 degrees and climb to FL330.' the first officer read back the clearance exactly the way it was issued and the controller said that it was correct. I started my turn and climb. Well into the turn and climbing through FL295, the ATC controller said that the clearance was not for us and we needed to get back on course and descend to level at FL290. ATC told us to turn left to a 360 degree heading and that we needed to get back to FL290 now. We complied and we were given on-course and a frequency change. ATC also thanked us for our help. We read back our call sign all 3 times and somehow it was still a miscom.
