Narrative:

The captain was flying the camrn 3 arrival. I had noticed the descent rate was not enough to cross hoggs intersection at FL180 as assigned, so I questioned as to if he would make it. I mentioned it at least 3 times. The captain thought hoggs was at 46 DME not 38 DME. 46 DME is actually panze intersection. Well, we crossed at like FL195 and ATC said nothing. So it seems it did not cause a traffic conflict problem. 3 reasons I believed this happened other than the obvious one of misreading a chart by the captain:. 1) I'm a first yr first officer on probation and worried for my job. Each flight we do, the captain writes a review of our performance and I did not wish to make this person upset with me. 2) I needed to be specific and ask 'are we going to make the crossing restr at 38 DME?' I needed to be more assertive until I had an answer. Lack of communication, as I never heard a response from the captain. I thought he heard me as every time I asked he did increase rate of descent. I needed to verbally hear an answer instead of assuming because he looked like he was trying to correct, but in fact never heard my questioning. 3) we do not use a cockpit intercom system on this aircraft and I believe it is a safety issue as it is hard to hear each other in a normal flying event, let alone if something went wrong and we needed to communication over more noise. In the future I will be sure to get a verbal response to my questioning.
