Narrative:
The cockpit contacted the crew via the interphone during our climb out of lga. He informed us that the temperature gauge was no longer regulating the aircraft temperature. He advised us to stand by for instructions regarding the problem. We, the crew, did not start our breakfast service. The captain contacted us again by the interphone. He told us that we were to prepare for landing in ZZZ. He informed the passenger that the problem with the temperature gauge had to be fixed immediately or there could be a greater safety concern. We prepared the cabin for landing. There were no problems on landing or taxi to the gate. The mechanics and agents worked with us to get us safely airborne to dfw a few hours later.
