Narrative:
While taxiing for takeoff, due to the complexities of ord airport and due to the fact that we were not properly observing sterile cockpit procedures (idle conversation during taxi), we did not perform the taxi checklist. Thus, we did not set flaps for takeoff. When cleared for takeoff, I pushed up the throttles and got a takeoff warning horn. The captain noticed the flaps were not set for takeoff, and immediately set the flap handle. By this time we were rolling down the runway, and it took time to position the flaps before I would advance to takeoff power. As it was a long runway, and we were not at maximum takeoff weight, we continued the takeoff uneventfully. However, we made 3 mistakes: 1) we should have observed sterile cockpit, and not have been distraction. 2) we should have completed the taxi checklist. 3) when we heard the takeoff warning horn we should have aborted the takeoff. Very important lessons learned!

Title: A B737 FLC FAILS TO SET THEIR FLAPS FOR TKOF AND, AFTER RECEIVING THE WARNING HORN, SET THE FLAPS TO THE REQUIRED POS WHILE ROLLING DOWN THE RWY WITH REDUCED PWR AT ORD, IL.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING FOR TKOF, DUE TO THE COMPLEXITIES OF ORD ARPT AND DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE WERE NOT PROPERLY OBSERVING STERILE COCKPIT PROCS (IDLE CONVERSATION DURING TAXI), WE DID NOT PERFORM THE TAXI CHKLIST. THUS, WE DID NOT SET FLAPS FOR TKOF. WHEN CLRED FOR TKOF, I PUSHED UP THE THROTTLES AND GOT A TKOF WARNING HORN. THE CAPT NOTICED THE FLAPS WERE NOT SET FOR TKOF, AND IMMEDIATELY SET THE FLAP HANDLE. BY THIS TIME WE WERE ROLLING DOWN THE RWY, AND IT TOOK TIME TO POS THE FLAPS BEFORE I WOULD ADVANCE TO TKOF PWR. AS IT WAS A LONG RWY, AND WE WERE NOT AT MAX TKOF WT, WE CONTINUED THE TKOF UNEVENTFULLY. HOWEVER, WE MADE 3 MISTAKES: 1) WE SHOULD HAVE OBSERVED STERILE COCKPIT, AND NOT HAVE BEEN DISTR. 2) WE SHOULD HAVE COMPLETED THE TAXI CHKLIST. 3) WHEN WE HEARD THE TKOF WARNING HORN WE SHOULD HAVE ABORTED THE TKOF. VERY IMPORTANT LESSONS LEARNED!
