Narrative:
On climb out from runway 7L at phx, we experienced an APU fire warning light and associated fire bell. We ran the checklists and associated reference items as we declared an emergency and headed back to phx for landing. We landed 10000 pounds overweight. Landing was uneventful. Contacted dispatch, flight operations director of maintenance, union, and chief pilot.

Narrative: ON CLBOUT FROM RWY 7L AT PHX, WE EXPERIENCED AN APU FIRE WARNING LIGHT AND ASSOCIATED FIRE BELL. WE RAN THE CHKLISTS AND ASSOCIATED REF ITEMS AS WE DECLARED AN EMER AND HEADED BACK TO PHX FOR LNDG. WE LANDED 10000 LBS OVERWT. LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL.
