Narrative:

After takeoff from sna. Clearance to 7000 ft. At 4200 ft, tower told us to turn to 090 degrees and maintain 4000 ft. We started the turn and leveled off, we got a TCASII RA telling us to climb. We followed the TCASII and climbed to 5300 ft. The tower controller had turned us into traffic that was 4 mi and at 3800 ft and climbing. He turned us right into him and wanted us to descend directly into the traffic. We told him that we were climbing for an RA. He then handed us off to departure control. No further contact.
