Narrative:

I recall landing in dsm on runway 31 with a high pitch attitude at touchdown and momentarily getting the stick shaker after the mains were on the ground. I initiated thrust reversing before the nosewheel touched the ground. It caused the nose to go higher. We taxied to the gate. We saw the crew scheduled to pick up our plane and left the APU running. I recall telling the other captain that the first flight of the day items were completed and that there were no new discrepancies with the aircraft. I do not recall the first officer saying anything to me that would indicate an abnormality with the postflt. I did not know that there was skin damage until I got a call from the chief pilot and was told that there was an ongoing investigation. I looked up the flight standards manual and saw that my actions of having the thrust reversers out before the nosewheel is on the ground is not proper procedure. We were landing light with an aft center of gravity. I have seen other pilots on line landing and having the thrust reversers deployed before nosewheel touchdown.

Title: CL-65 CREW HAD A TAIL SKIN CONTACT ON LNDG AT DSM.

Narrative: I RECALL LNDG IN DSM ON RWY 31 WITH A HIGH PITCH ATTITUDE AT TOUCHDOWN AND MOMENTARILY GETTING THE STICK SHAKER AFTER THE MAINS WERE ON THE GND. I HAVE SEEN OTHER PLTS ON LINE LNDG AND HAVING THE THRUST REVERSERS DEPLOYED BEFORE NOSEWHEEL TOUCHDOWN.
