Narrative:
Ardmore municipal is an old, closed AFB. I am not familiar with the airport. I was located at the FBO when I called for taxi information. Tower told me to taxi to runway 13 via taxiway a, which is parallel with runway 17. There is a very large ramp area along taxiway a which has yellow taxi lines every so far apart leading to runway 17. This ramp area has a lot of grass growing on it. The tower operator told me, after I was taxiing some distance down taxiway a, to turn right next taxiway and taxi down runway 17. As I was taxiing on the runway, I was thinking to myself 'tower should have told me to back-taxi runway 17.' at that time, tower advised me I was on the runway and to make the next left and clear the runway, which I did. Runway 13 was the active runway. Since I was sbound, tower gave me runway 17 for departure, thus the miscom. There was no traffic inbound for runway 17. No conflict. The numerous yellow taxi lines on the old ramp are misleading. I was using the airport diagram at the time.

Title: SMA PLT HAS A RWY INCURSION AT ADM.
Narrative: ARDMORE MUNICIPAL IS AN OLD, CLOSED AFB. I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT. I WAS LOCATED AT THE FBO WHEN I CALLED FOR TAXI INFO. TWR TOLD ME TO TAXI TO RWY 13 VIA TXWY A, WHICH IS PARALLEL WITH RWY 17. THERE IS A VERY LARGE RAMP AREA ALONG TXWY A WHICH HAS YELLOW TAXI LINES EVERY SO FAR APART LEADING TO RWY 17. THIS RAMP AREA HAS A LOT OF GRASS GROWING ON IT. THE TWR OPERATOR TOLD ME, AFTER I WAS TAXIING SOME DISTANCE DOWN TXWY A, TO TURN R NEXT TXWY AND TAXI DOWN RWY 17. AS I WAS TAXIING ON THE RWY, I WAS THINKING TO MYSELF 'TWR SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME TO BACK-TAXI RWY 17.' AT THAT TIME, TWR ADVISED ME I WAS ON THE RWY AND TO MAKE THE NEXT L AND CLR THE RWY, WHICH I DID. RWY 13 WAS THE ACTIVE RWY. SINCE I WAS SBOUND, TWR GAVE ME RWY 17 FOR DEP, THUS THE MISCOM. THERE WAS NO TFC INBOUND FOR RWY 17. NO CONFLICT. THE NUMEROUS YELLOW TAXI LINES ON THE OLD RAMP ARE MISLEADING. I WAS USING THE ARPT DIAGRAM AT THE TIME.
