Narrative:
On jun/wed/03, we arrived on our ramp in iah to be marshaled into our gate. Prior to turning into our gate we observed 2 dollies with 1 container near the left side of the airplane. A wing walker on the left side indicated the area was clear to the marshaler and the captain. Our gate area had black and white stripe boundary lines and did not extend out where the containers were. The wing walker cleared gate with extended wand inside the containers, so we proceeded. Approximately 40 ft prior to our stopping post our left wingtip contacted the containers damaging the #1 slat, and position lights. We came to a stop and then the marshaler gave us the stop signal. Contributing factors: 1) ramp was expecting different aircraft. 2) captain and first officer's side windows were fogged. Marshaler never saw emergency stop given by wing walker, (focused on our nosewheel). 3) crew lulled into all clear ramp by wing walker and marshaler all clear, 4) poor coordination between wing walker, marshaler, and crew. 5) non maintenance personnel bringing us in. Crew must be more alert to clearing area and not rely on ground crew's all clear.

Title: B727 STRUCK 2 CARGO DOLLIES WITH L WINGTIP WHILE BEING MARSHALED INTO GATE AT IAH. WING WALKER WAS UNAWARE THE ACFT WAS AN EQUIP SUBSTITUTION FOR AN A300.
Narrative: ON JUN/WED/03, WE ARRIVED ON OUR RAMP IN IAH TO BE MARSHALED INTO OUR GATE. PRIOR TO TURNING INTO OUR GATE WE OBSERVED 2 DOLLIES WITH 1 CONTAINER NEAR THE L SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE. A WING WALKER ON THE L SIDE INDICATED THE AREA WAS CLR TO THE MARSHALER AND THE CAPT. OUR GATE AREA HAD BLACK AND WHITE STRIPE BOUNDARY LINES AND DID NOT EXTEND OUT WHERE THE CONTAINERS WERE. THE WING WALKER CLRED GATE WITH EXTENDED WAND INSIDE THE CONTAINERS, SO WE PROCEEDED. APPROX 40 FT PRIOR TO OUR STOPPING POST OUR L WINGTIP CONTACTED THE CONTAINERS DAMAGING THE #1 SLAT, AND POS LIGHTS. WE CAME TO A STOP AND THEN THE MARSHALER GAVE US THE STOP SIGNAL. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: 1) RAMP WAS EXPECTING DIFFERENT ACFT. 2) CAPT AND FO'S SIDE WINDOWS WERE FOGGED. MARSHALER NEVER SAW EMER STOP GIVEN BY WING WALKER, (FOCUSED ON OUR NOSEWHEEL). 3) CREW LULLED INTO ALL CLR RAMP BY WING WALKER AND MARSHALER ALL CLR, 4) POOR COORD BTWN WING WALKER, MARSHALER, AND CREW. 5) NON MAINT PERSONNEL BRINGING US IN. CREW MUST BE MORE ALERT TO CLRING AREA AND NOT RELY ON GND CREW'S ALL CLR.
