Narrative:
During taxi on an IOE flight, I become distracted by a heading flag and had my head down in the cockpit. Instead of making a turn onto the parallel taxiway, I continued on and made a turn onto the runway. As soon as I initiated the turn, I realized my location and made a prompt 180 degree turn and rejoined the proper taxiway. There were no other aircraft in the vicinity at the time. This could have been prevented by both increased vigilance from both the crew members, and by not allowing the heading flag to distract me.

Narrative: DURING TAXI ON AN IOE FLT, I BECOME DISTRACTED BY A HDG FLAG AND HAD MY HEAD DOWN IN THE COCKPIT. INSTEAD OF MAKING A TURN ONTO THE PARALLEL TXWY, I CONTINUED ON AND MADE A TURN ONTO THE RWY. AS SOON AS I INITIATED THE TURN, I REALIZED MY LOCATION AND MADE A PROMPT 180 DEG TURN AND REJOINED THE PROPER TXWY. THERE WERE NO OTHER ACFT IN THE VICINITY AT THE TIME.
