Narrative:
IFR flight plan. Visual approach flying localizer DME-C into ege. Approaching vaile, ATC turned us over to tower. Vaile, 11500 ft, turned onto localizer starting descent to land. Large white glider crossed immediately in front of us, left to right. PIC estimates 1000 ft horizontal and 500 ft below. First officer estimates 500 ft horizontal and 500 ft below. Shocked, we observed his slow left descending turn as appeared he may turn back into our descent/approach path. We turned left of localizer and continued descent when glider suddenly turned right and rapidly climbed behind us. Normal approach and landing completed. Passenger unaware of situation. I spoke to ege tower manager, who said there are 2 pwred gliders based at the field and they are aware to stay clear of approach area. He said they are not under ATC control as long as they are below 10000 ft. No TCASII activity prior to incident. At XB35, approximately 1 hour later, holding short for takeoff, similar looking glider landed in opposite direction.

Title: BE40 CREW HAD LESS THAN LEGAL SEPARATION WITH A GLIDER OPERATING ON THE LOC DME-C APCH AT EGE.
Narrative: IFR FLT PLAN. VISUAL APCH FLYING LOC DME-C INTO EGE. APCHING VAILE, ATC TURNED US OVER TO TWR. VAILE, 11500 FT, TURNED ONTO LOC STARTING DSCNT TO LAND. LARGE WHITE GLIDER CROSSED IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF US, L TO R. PIC ESTIMATES 1000 FT HORIZ AND 500 FT BELOW. FO ESTIMATES 500 FT HORIZ AND 500 FT BELOW. SHOCKED, WE OBSERVED HIS SLOW L DSNDING TURN AS APPEARED HE MAY TURN BACK INTO OUR DSCNT/APCH PATH. WE TURNED L OF LOC AND CONTINUED DSCNT WHEN GLIDER SUDDENLY TURNED R AND RAPIDLY CLBED BEHIND US. NORMAL APCH AND LNDG COMPLETED. PAX UNAWARE OF SIT. I SPOKE TO EGE TWR MGR, WHO SAID THERE ARE 2 PWRED GLIDERS BASED AT THE FIELD AND THEY ARE AWARE TO STAY CLR OF APCH AREA. HE SAID THEY ARE NOT UNDER ATC CTL AS LONG AS THEY ARE BELOW 10000 FT. NO TCASII ACTIVITY PRIOR TO INCIDENT. AT XB35, APPROX 1 HR LATER, HOLDING SHORT FOR TKOF, SIMILAR LOOKING GLIDER LANDED IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
