Narrative:
Flap fail during approach. Declared emergency. Aircraft had numerous previous entries concerning flap failures in-flight. We had a&P mechanic assigned to our aircraft to troubleshoot any flap failure during our flight. We received a flap fail EICAS message. We declared emergency with lbb tower and advised them of problem and requested crash fire rescue equipment. We landed safely and uneventfully. Contacted dispatch of emergency and flap fail and contacted moc also. I also advised assistant chief pilot dfw (captain I believe) after emergency. I also spoke to crash fire rescue equipment personnel and thanked them for their response.
