Primary Problem | Passenger Human Performance |
Narrative:
I was called by aft galley flight attendant (at 1 1/2 - 2 hours into flight) and informed passenger was intoxicated and that she was 'cutting him off' alcohol. I said 'ok, keep me informed.' shortly after that, flight attendant #6 came up to me and said passenger was loud and belligerent, demanding more drinks, and that he had pushed flight attendant #2 to try to force his way into galley for more drinks. 3 flight attendants in back were trying in a very calm and professional manner to calm him down, without success. I called captain and informed him of situation and told him I would go back to assess the problem. He put on 'seat belt' sign and he made a PA. When I got to back, passenger was staggering, his eyes were glassy and unfocused and he was cursing loudly. I explained seat belt sign was on and that captain asked me to make sure he sat down. He pointed his finger in my face and told me, '(expletive) the captain. I want the captain here right now! He can't do anything to me.' I gave him the passenger disturbance form to read and he threw it at me. Captain was informed and we diverted to sju to remove passenger.

Narrative: I WAS CALLED BY AFT GALLEY FLT ATTENDANT (AT 1 1/2 - 2 HRS INTO FLT) AND INFORMED PAX WAS INTOXICATED AND THAT SHE WAS 'CUTTING HIM OFF' ALCOHOL. I SAID 'OK, KEEP ME INFORMED.' SHORTLY AFTER THAT, FLT ATTENDANT #6 CAME UP TO ME AND SAID PAX WAS LOUD AND BELLIGERENT, DEMANDING MORE DRINKS, AND THAT HE HAD PUSHED FLT ATTENDANT #2 TO TRY TO FORCE HIS WAY INTO GALLEY FOR MORE DRINKS. 3 FLT ATTENDANTS IN BACK WERE TRYING IN A VERY CALM AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER TO CALM HIM DOWN, WITHOUT SUCCESS. I CALLED CAPT AND INFORMED HIM OF SIT AND TOLD HIM I WOULD GO BACK TO ASSESS THE PROB. HE PUT ON 'SEAT BELT' SIGN AND HE MADE A PA. WHEN I GOT TO BACK, PAX WAS STAGGERING, HIS EYES WERE GLASSY AND UNFOCUSED AND HE WAS CURSING LOUDLY. I EXPLAINED SEAT BELT SIGN WAS ON AND THAT CAPT ASKED ME TO MAKE SURE HE SAT DOWN. HE POINTED HIS FINGER IN MY FACE AND TOLD ME, '(EXPLETIVE) THE CAPT. I WANT THE CAPT HERE RIGHT NOW! HE CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO ME.' I GAVE HIM THE PAX DISTURBANCE FORM TO READ AND HE THREW IT AT ME. CAPT WAS INFORMED AND WE DIVERTED TO SJU TO REMOVE PAX.
