Narrative:

I was cleared to land, runway 30 at hts airport. I extended the gear down. The right main gear light failed to show down and locked. Upon pressing the light lamp button, it came on. Upon releasing, it went off showing gear not locked. I informed hts tower that I did not want to land aircraft of unlocked right main gear. I exited the pattern to continue working all of the gear, to no avail (approximately 8 times), cycling and recycling. The right main light would not show locked down. The tower told me it looked down. On the next pass, I landed without event. When I looked down again, the locked down light was on. I will have an a&P check the gear later to determine the problem with the light. My problem: on feb/sun/04, I received a call from FSDO about this and they informed me my 3RD class medical had expired in 2003. I told them I would check and inform them on feb/tue/04. I have made an appointment to get my 3RD class medical on feb/mon/04 for corrective action.

I EXITED THE PATTERN TO CONTINUE WORKING ALL OF THE GEAR, TO NO AVAIL (APPROX 8 TIMES), CYCLING AND RECYCLING. THE R MAIN LIGHT WOULD NOT SHOW LOCKED DOWN. THE TWR TOLD ME IT LOOKED DOWN. ON THE NEXT PASS, I LANDED WITHOUT EVENT. WHEN I LOOKED DOWN AGAIN, THE LOCKED DOWN LIGHT WAS ON. I WILL HAVE AN A&P CHK THE GEAR LATER TO DETERMINE THE PROB WITH THE LIGHT. MY PROB: ON FEB/SUN/04, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM FSDO ABOUT THIS AND THEY INFORMED ME MY 3RD CLASS MEDICAL HAD EXPIRED IN 2003. I TOLD THEM I WOULD CHK AND INFORM THEM ON FEB/TUE/04. I HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET MY 3RD CLASS MEDICAL ON FEB/MON/04 FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION.
