Narrative:
I moved a rack over to be cleaned in the alkaline tank and put the front hub assemblies on the rack. Received the shop orders and started loading the baskets. I was talking to a co-worker and put the front bearing assemblies in the basket, looked at everything and put in the tank. Did not start foam right away. Walked away for about 5 mins, came back and noticed it was foaming. Immediately removed parts. Notified crew chief.

Title: AN ENG SHOP REPAIRMAN RPTS IMPROPER CLEANING OF ENG BEARINGS AND BEARING HOUSINGS IN AN ALKALINE TANK.
Narrative: I MOVED A RACK OVER TO BE CLEANED IN THE ALKALINE TANK AND PUT THE FRONT HUB ASSEMBLIES ON THE RACK. RECEIVED THE SHOP ORDERS AND STARTED LOADING THE BASKETS. I WAS TALKING TO A CO-WORKER AND PUT THE FRONT BEARING ASSEMBLIES IN THE BASKET, LOOKED AT EVERYTHING AND PUT IN THE TANK. DID NOT START FOAM RIGHT AWAY. WALKED AWAY FOR ABOUT 5 MINS, CAME BACK AND NOTICED IT WAS FOAMING. IMMEDIATELY REMOVED PARTS. NOTIFIED CREW CHIEF.
