Narrative:
Departure runway 24 at teb at xa:00 local on the teb 5 departure. Began climb on the 280 degree heading to 2000 ft MSL before reaching 4.5 DME from teb VOR. Deviation approximately 200-400 ft before correcting to 1500 ft. Noticed deviation while clearing area for traffic (high density area) and corrected smoothly so as not to injure passenger. Corrected back to 1500 ft before handoff to next controller. Upon landing at iad at xb:00 local, I contacted both the teb tower and the new york TRACON, newark sector to discuss situation. They noted that no reports were made, and that there were no traffic conflicts at the time. Being new to the giv and keeping a close lookout for traffic in a high density area, cause me to climb before the appropriate distance as per the SID. This experience will ensure that I put all intermediate altitudes altitude alerter before takeoff.

Title: GLF4 CREW HAD AN ALT OVERSHOOT ON THE TEB 5 SID AT TEB.
Narrative: DEP RWY 24 AT TEB AT XA:00 LOCAL ON THE TEB 5 DEP. BEGAN CLB ON THE 280 DEG HDG TO 2000 FT MSL BEFORE REACHING 4.5 DME FROM TEB VOR. DEV APPROX 200-400 FT BEFORE CORRECTING TO 1500 FT. NOTICED DEV WHILE CLEARING AREA FOR TFC (HIGH DENSITY AREA) AND CORRECTED SMOOTHLY SO AS NOT TO INJURE PAX. CORRECTED BACK TO 1500 FT BEFORE HANDOFF TO NEXT CTLR. UPON LNDG AT IAD AT XB:00 LOCAL, I CONTACTED BOTH THE TEB TWR AND THE NEW YORK TRACON, NEWARK SECTOR TO DISCUSS SIT. THEY NOTED THAT NO RPTS WERE MADE, AND THAT THERE WERE NO TFC CONFLICTS AT THE TIME. BEING NEW TO THE GIV AND KEEPING A CLOSE LOOKOUT FOR TFC IN A HIGH DENSITY AREA, CAUSE ME TO CLB BEFORE THE APPROPRIATE DISTANCE AS PER THE SID. THIS EXPERIENCE WILL ENSURE THAT I PUT ALL INTERMEDIATE ALTS ALT ALERTER BEFORE TKOF.
