Narrative:
Exit ramp 3, right on taxiway east, left at ramp 4, left on taxiway F, hold short ramp 3. That was the clearance. The WX was thunderstorms with windshears moving into the field. Many aircraft waiting to depart (30+ airplanes). We were fueled only 300 pounds over minimum for takeoff. My first officer and I had discussed that after we got started taxiing, he would contact dispatch and got our fuel amended so we would not have to return to the gate for more fuel. After we finally started taxiing, he went off intercom and called dispatch. I continued taxiing. My mind was on the deteriorating WX. I lost situational awareness for just a few seconds and went past our hold short point on the taxiway. Fortunately, my mistake was caught quickly by my first officer and we stopped less than 1 airplane length out of position.

Narrative: EXIT RAMP 3, R ON TXWY E, L AT RAMP 4, L ON TXWY F, HOLD SHORT RAMP 3. THAT WAS THE CLRNC. THE WX WAS TSTMS WITH WINDSHEARS MOVING INTO THE FIELD. MANY ACFT WAITING TO DEPART (30+ AIRPLANES). WE WERE FUELED ONLY 300 LBS OVER MINIMUM FOR TKOF. MY FO AND I HAD DISCUSSED THAT AFTER WE GOT STARTED TAXIING, HE WOULD CONTACT DISPATCH AND GOT OUR FUEL AMENDED SO WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO RETURN TO THE GATE FOR MORE FUEL. AFTER WE FINALLY STARTED TAXIING, HE WENT OFF INTERCOM AND CALLED DISPATCH. I CONTINUED TAXIING. MY MIND WAS ON THE DETERIORATING WX. I LOST SITUATIONAL AWARENESS FOR JUST A FEW SECONDS AND WENT PAST OUR HOLD SHORT POINT ON THE TXWY. FORTUNATELY, MY MISTAKE WAS CAUGHT QUICKLY BY MY FO AND WE STOPPED LESS THAN 1 AIRPLANE LENGTH OUT OF POS.
