Narrative:

I was working the local control position during the above described time. My ground controller received a report of a possible blown tire by a heavy aircraft that landed on our primary arrival runway. He told the os/controller in charge, a first line supervisor. Nobody told me, the local controller. I continued to land aircraft on that runway until FBO advised me he would like to do a runway check. I informed him my final was packed, and it would be a while before I could get him on the runway. He said it was up to me, but he had a report of possible FOD on the runway. This was the first I had heard of it. I immediately started moving aircraft to another runway and allowed the airport vehicle to check the runway. He did find some rubber on the runway which could have caused problems for the 2 or 3 aircraft that landed before I became aware or the problem.

Title: ANC LCL CTLR IS NOT INFORMED OF POSSIBLE DEBRIS ON RWY AND CONTINUES OPS.

Narrative: I WAS WORKING THE LCL CTL POS DURING THE ABOVE DESCRIBED TIME. MY GND CTLR RECEIVED A RPT OF A POSSIBLE BLOWN TIRE BY A HVY ACFT THAT LANDED ON OUR PRIMARY ARR RWY. HE TOLD THE OS/CIC, A FIRST LINE SUPVR. NOBODY TOLD ME, THE LCL CTLR. I CONTINUED TO LAND ACFT ON THAT RWY UNTIL FBO ADVISED ME HE WOULD LIKE TO DO A RWY CHK. I INFORMED HIM MY FINAL WAS PACKED, AND IT WOULD BE A WHILE BEFORE I COULD GET HIM ON THE RWY. HE SAID IT WAS UP TO ME, BUT HE HAD A RPT OF POSSIBLE FOD ON THE RWY. THIS WAS THE FIRST I HAD HEARD OF IT. I IMMEDIATELY STARTED MOVING ACFT TO ANOTHER RWY AND ALLOWED THE ARPT VEHICLE TO CHK THE RWY. HE DID FIND SOME RUBBER ON THE RWY WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED PROBS FOR THE 2 OR 3 ACFT THAT LANDED BEFORE I BECAME AWARE OR THE PROB.
