Narrative:
Used unauthorized glue in galley repair. On sep/wed/05; it was discovered through examining the engineering service orders for another repair that a long-standing shop practice of using yellow glue; fast bond 10; for replacing fabric was not permitted per the engineering service order. The engineers were called; and this morning we were told by the lead technician that the repair was not legal. This practice was likely to affect all aircraft due to the time that it was in use. I myself have used fast bond 10 on B757 parts in the past. All parts in shop are currently on hold until the proper glue and paperwork can be obtained or engineering approval given. The use of fast bond (yellow glue) for fabric replacement is a long-standing practice endorsed by management and the lead technicians.
